The efficient management of the agriculture industry using appropriate adaptation strategies has become a necessity. Focussed policy responses that boost the development and dissemination of suitable farming practices and technologies will be crucial to find lasting adaptation solutions for the agriculture sector.
In this context, there should be implementation of revised agro-ecological zones in Punjab, and diversification of crops and growth of pulses and edible oil. Development of weather-resistant seeds is also needed, apart from adoption of climate smart agriculture and improving climate forecasting for farmers.
