REVEALED: How Google is joining fight against evil ISIS propaganda network

WOULD-BE jihadists who use Google to search for extremist material are to be shown anti-radicalisation links under a new counter-terrorism scheme.

 

The pilot scheme, announced by tech giants Google, means those vulnerable to radicalisation will see anti-extremist ads before material from groups such as ISIS, also known as Daesh.

 

Google executive Dr Anthony House told MPs the company was making sure “when people put potentially damaging search terms into our search engines they also find these counter narratives”.

House – public policy and communications chief for the tax-dodging firm – said the company was pumping money into charity ads that would appear at the top of search results for extremist materials.
