WATCH: Calais resident pulls out gun in standoff with pro-migrant marchers

TENSIONS between migrants and Calais locals hit boiling point over the weekend when a resident pulled a gun on refugees taking part in the protest that led to the ferry storming.

In ugly scenes, which were caught on film, two men clashed with protestors passing through a council estate close to the town's port on Saturday afternoon.
After exchanging angry words the two sides began pushing and shoving before one resident retreats inside his home under a hail of debris including an inner tube.

"That's when one of them took out what looked like a hunting rifle and began waiving it towards the migrants," said a witness.
"A lot of people thought he might use it and began ducking. There was a great deal of concern, as pellets have been shot at migrants before," he added.
